End of Year Letter from the EHT - 18 July 2025

Dear All,

As we come to the end of term, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful summer. It has been another fun filled year creating many more precious memories. I hope that those of you who are leaving us, will hold onto those special memories, and remember fondly, the days you spent at Borough Road.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank governors, teachers, educators, support staff and our superb office administrator for continuing to dedicate their passion and energy into making Borough Road such a wonderful, magical place to be.

As I look back over the year there have been so many wonderful moments, however, I think one of my favourites has to be the celebration event, the picnic and the fair. This year we held a special ceremony before the picnic so that we could celebrate the time we have shared with all those children leaving us this term. It is a proud moment to watch them stand up on the stage, in front of everyone, to collect their special certificate – that is an achievement in itself!

I always love to see you enjoying a family picnic in our beautiful gardens – we really are so very lucky to have such a spectacular location. I would like to thank everyone who donated gifts, etc for the fair and all the volunteers who gave up their time to help us raise money for the nursery school funds. It is very much appreciated. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to ensure an event like this can go ahead. We raised a grand total of £534 which has helped to fund the equipment for the garden.

Sadly, we say also say goodbye to Elliott, who has been providing lunch time support during this term. The children have enjoyed his company and I am sure he will be missed by many.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your support, and for choosing Borough Road for your child. It has been a privilege and an honour to meet each one of them, and you. I have enjoyed watching them become the creative, confident and capable young people they are. Each year they continue to amaze me. We learn as much from them, as they do from us. Your children will continue to motivate and inspire us. For those leaving us, we wish them all the excitement and joy of a new beginning. However, we know many of you will be returning, and we look forward to another fun filled year ahead when we return on 2 September.

Happy Summer Holidays

Kindest regards

Helen Dummett
