ECO Schools and Sustainability at George Dent
Katie and her Eco Schools Committee
We are currently working on 3 topics to achieve our 4th Green Flag;
Litter - completing regular litter picks in the local area
Global Citizenship- making comparisons with our link nursery in Brisbane Australia
Transport- considering how we travel to school (information will be sent to parents soon) and thinking about different modes of transport and their impact on carbon emissions.
We always welcome involvement from parents and families and would love for some of you to join us on our regular smaller litter picks.
ECO-Schools Green Flag Award
We are proud to announce that the Eco-Committee at George Dent Nursery School have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag for the third year running.
Although our children are very young, they have been joining in and contributing to meetings, championing the Eco-cause. As we move forward into our fourth year of Eco schools. We will soon be considering our topics for this year and hope to focus on transport.
Our work will continue for biodiversity, litter, waste, healthy living and maintaining our wider community connections. Children will continue to help us collect crisp packets and deliver them to the charity, organise and deliver food bank donations and join our litter picks in the community.
