Creative Beginnings: Creative Early Learning Communities

Tees Valley Creative Education Partnership (TVCEP) is launching a pilot scheme to support early years educators to develop creative and arts-based approaches to working with the children in their settings and to strengthen ties between early years settings and cultural venues.

This pilot will see two collectives of six early years educators co-create a training and development programme with the support of local cultural venues to improve Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outcomes through creativity.

There will be two initial pilot projects – one collective based in Middlesbrough with MIMA as the hub and the other based in Darlington led by Borough Road Nursery. The project is curated by Theatre Hullabaloo – www.theatrehullabaloo.org.uk.

The training programme will respond to a specific teaching and learning need identified by each collective. After an initial consultation meeting to establish areas of development, Theatre Hullabaloo will design five CPD training sessions delivered to nominated educators from each setting. Participation in the project will enable educators to achieve an Early Years Creativity Digital badge to celebrate their skills and knowledge.
