George Dent Nursery

Welcome back 7/09/2020

Good Morning Everyone,

As we begin our first full week back in school, I would like to thank all parents and carers, for their lovely comments and feedback. On behalf of the governors I would like to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure everyone is welcomed back into school as soon as possible!

I would also like to take this opportunity to share some staff news. We are welcoming back Helen Palmer, who is joining Saplings Room as an early years practitioner and I would also like to introduce Gemma Read. Gemma is an early years apprentice and she will be working in Seedlings. We will be sending out a class news letter in due course so that you can put names to faces!

It has been a real pleasure to start to welcome the children back; staff have worked hard to ensure that transitions are as smooth as they can be, during these very strange times. It was lovely to see the children's happy smiling faces and notice their obvious joy in meeting their friends again.

Staff are working hard to manage the staggered drop off and pick up times alongside our session offer. I know that the new times are not ideal for everyone, however, we are trying hard to follow health and safety guidance and advice, and make sure that our nursery is as safe as it can be for staff and children attending. We are mindful that our children and staff need to feel happy, safe and secure!

Thank you to all those parents who have remembered their fruit and £1 contributions. We want you to know that these contributions are still gratefully received. All fruit is washed and peeled before being shared with the children.

You were so very good this week, however, there are likely to be more parents and children arriving over the coming week so don't forget social distancing measures as you arrive and depart school. Seedlings children enter through the main entrance, lining up towards Hullabaloo. Saplings children enter through the community room fire door and line up towards the Forum.

Over the next few weeks we will continue to review our plans and preparations to make sure things run as smoothly as possible. We will try to keep you updated as best as we can. Should you have any questions, queries or suggestions you can contact us via messenger, email and phone.

Thank you
Helen Dummett
